  • Dying From Italian Pizza?

When I search “Italian pizza” into the search bar, it comes up with anything but that. Local eateries that think they serve ‘authentic’ Italian dishes is all that comes up, as well as some recipes that I haven’t used. Authentic Italian pizza should be celebrated for its taste, how it’s made, and how you eat it. American pizza is acceptable, but it’s no match for Italy’s. However, there is the truth about eating too much of it. Pizza in general is not good for you. So, have people died from eating too much pizza? Is it dangerous to eat it every day?

As some know, American pizza is no match for Italy’s. What makes Italian pizza so good though? Is it the dough? The cheese? The way they make it? Anyone can say “Italian food is better.” But why?

  • History and Importance of the Verona Opera

What makes opera so special and spectacular to witness? It’s not the same as watching a musical on Broadway, I would go as far to say it is a better experience. The way you watch it is also of importance. The area, the opera house or arena, the dress code, and the history of the place can increase the experience. The Verona opera house is important because of the history behind it. We will discuss this here as well as why opera is so special.

The Verona opera house, Arena di Verona, is like a “…less battered version of the Colosseum in Rome” (Tickitaly). It was built in 30 A.D. and was purposed for games, or ‘ludii’, which were circus like events to make the Roman government happy, like gladiator fighting. Unfortunately, the earthquake of 1117, destroyed most of the outer ring. But, the time of the Renaissance saved the Arena and became use to theatre performances (Tickitaly).

  • Flywheels as Batteries

In the day of technology, it’s almost hard to remember a simpler time. Like cars, we are taking many strides to go electrical. In the case of renewable energy, we are doing this to sustain our life on Earth, because soon we will run out of coal/oil and when we do, we need to be ready with another source of energy to take over. Luckily, with electricity produced by wind, waves, and the sun, we can do this. Another great stride is the use of flywheels. We will discuss what they are, how they create energy, and the use of them as batteries.

To start, flywheels are wheels that take much force to spin. They store a lot of kinetic energy, but think of it as a “mechanical battery” (Woodford). It can have a large or smaller diameter made from carbon-fiber and it needs a lot of force to start it spinning and a lot of force to stop it spinning, “but it’s storing energy in the form of movement (kinetic energy, in other words) rather than the energy stored in chemical form inside a traditional, electrical battery” (Woodford).

  • Molten Salt Reactors: Future of Nuclear Power

The future is becoming of a present-day occurrence, in terms of technology. There is always something new coming out. When it comes to nuclear power, there are advances in molten salt reactors. What are these reactors? What are their benefits and disadvantages? How are they the future to nuclear power?

It is important to discuss what nuclear power is before getting into what molten salt reactors are because they go hand in hand with one another. So, what is nuclear energy? It is when “…the nucleus of a very large atom can split in two. In this process, a certain amount of the large atom’s mass is converted to pure energy following Einstein’s famous formula E = MC2 where M is small amount of mass and C is the speed of light” (What is). In finding out about the formula’s success, many discovered that the energy could be used as weapons, hence the ‘nuclear weapons’ during the 30’s and 40’s.

  • How to get a career out of college

It’s mostly easy to get a job. You submit a resume and they call you for an interview and that’s mostly it. When it comes to gaining a career, it’s more complicated. There is more to it than just submitting a resume and going in for an interview. As most know by now, college is for individuals who want to expand their knowledge in the right career paths of their choosing and to gain experience in a career field before going out for the first time. How does one do this though? How complicated can it be? Why is it so complicated?

Some careers are simple to get right out of college. It really depends on the individual and what they have done to get to that point. Many careers need you to have experience beforehand, as well as the right college degree. In most cases, you will do an internship during your junior year and that is when you gain experience and hopefully get a position to work full time or get referred somewhere else.

  • Psychological Manipulation within Advertising

What is the last advertisement that you watched? Online, on the TV, billboards, the newspaper, or just a man on the sidewalk handing out something. It’s easy to see why and how we advertise products, but why do we use psychological manipulation to do it? This paper will discuss what I mean by psychological manipulation in advertising and some examples. Should this concern you as a consumer?

Psychological manipulation is like “mind control.” To change the way someone looks and feels about something/someone for the other person’s liking. “…the tactics they use can make it appear like they’re doing almost anything but simply trying to get the better of you” (Simon). This is purely psychological, but it can work in terms of psychologically manipulating customers to buy a certain product.

Italy has an immersive culture as well as sights worth traveling to see. It also has beautiful architecture that you can only see in Italy. Andrea Palladio was born November 30, 1508 in the region of Veneto, Italy where he was an apprentice, a student or assistant, to a sculptor until he was 16. • What is best for America: Globalism or Nationalism?

America is known as the “land of the free.” Where supposedly we put our trust in “God.” America is more diverse than ever, with cultures, races, religion, sexuality, political sections, and even gender. People in America are free to believe in what they want to believe and say what they want to say about it. That’s their freedom of speech going into play. That’s to say, to not confuse it with hate speech. But in today’s political divide, we are more concerned about ourselves than others. To understand what it better for America, in the long run, we must understand what Globalism and Nationalism is. How they affect us and why one would be better than the other.
