    The political structure of the European Union is an important topic to go over for several reasons. Whether you are going to Europe for traveling purposes or thinking about living there. It’s common sense to understand how the political system works wherever you are living, so for Europe, this is what we will discuss: what the European Union is, how it works, what countries are involved and why it’s important.

    According to Kimberly Amadeo of “the balance,” and many other sources, the “European Union (EU) is a unified trade and monetary body of 2[7] member countries. Its purpose is to be more competitive in the global marketplace. At the same time, it must balance the needs of its independent fiscal and political members” (Amadeo). In simple terms, it’s an economic and political association within European countries that involve free trade.

  • What to know before you fly to Europe for the first time

                So, your flying to Europe for the first time this summer, but you haven’t a clue about what you need to know beforehand. Europe is obviously different from the states in many ways so you should know that first hand. There are 5 things you should know before you fly there to prepare for it.

    The first is simple. Learn some of the language. It would be an excellent feature and learning experience if you already knew most of the language there, but most likely you don’t. Knowing key questions will aid you on the trip though. Luckily, “English is dominating, since it is the first foreign language almost all children in the EU learn” (Marian). Plenty of people in Europe speak English, however “French and German are also quite important” as dominating languages (Marian).

    Important questions to know before you go would be: “Where is the bathroom?” “How do I get to (destination)?” “How much is this?” Knowing some common courtesy language is also recommended. How to order your food at a restaurant can be equally important as well.
